SMBCMS MANUAL
 Service Pages

Catalog, Shop, News, Articles, Gallery and Search modules have a constant predefined set of pages on which specific information is displayed (e.g., Site Search Result page in Search module). Those pages are called Service pages.

Service pages are necessary for the modules to function properly thus they can’t be deleted, unlike content pages. Service page content is automatically placed by the system in the Structure/Content block of a design template. The content depends on the information presented on the page (e.g., a list of products in the category on the Category page). You can edit structure of a service page.

A visitor can access service pages via navigation (e.g., Catalog Menu) or service (e.g., Specials, What’s New?) blocks.

Navigation Blocks are used in templates. You can insert service blocks into a template in the Edit Template window.

Service Blocks are used in content and service pages. You can insert service blocks into a page in the Edit Content or Edit Structure window accordingly.

A structure of the Structure/Content navigation block can be edited in the Edit Structure window for service pages. Content of this block can be edited in the Edit Content window for content pages. You can insert service blocks that will lead to the corresponding service pages (on the picture: Specials, What’s New?) and display primary information (on the picture: Products In a Category) on the page.

Level 3: Information

Information entered in the Admin Interface is placed into the site database. The database contains different types of information. When a visitor opens a page, information is automatically placed there from the database. Data arrangement depends on page template and structure.

News, Articles and Gallery service pages can be bound with menu items.
